08.20.2007 Corinne Callen's 3 songs
I had the chance to produce 3 songs for the talented Corinne Callen. Tomer Oami was overlooking the project. He also play some guitar tracks. Corinne played the acc. guitar and glock. We also had Etienne Charles on trumpet.
I recently collaborated with Junkie XL on a song for his upcoming new album. The track is called "Antidote" and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it makes the cut for the record. If you're not familiar with his work, you have to check out some of his remixes for artist like Bloc party, Justin Timberlake, & The Editors. Everybody by now should be familiar with his remix of Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation" that was used in a Nike ad for the 2002 World Cup. He also produced a remixed version of the Sims theme music for the computer game The Sims 2: Nightlife.
Working with JXL on this track was a great way for me to step outside the box as a songwriter, and try something a bit different. I never imagined myself singing on an electronic record, but JXL called me up, and told about a song he had been working on and said he thought my voice would be perfect for the track. So I jumped at the opportunity to work with him, and began writing lyrics that weekend. The vocals were tracked in a New York Studio with Richard Maheux on wed August 22. Tom is currently hard at work in his Venice Beach, California studio finishing up the record. For updates on his album, and info on the release of our song check out www.junkiexl.com or
