RICHARD MAHEUX - I was born into a musical family in Thetford-Mines, a small town in the province of Quebec, Canada. Both my parents were musicians. Throughout my childhood, my father had a music store, a music school and a recording studio.

I started playing guitar at age 8. At 12, I was playing bass in a wedding band. Since I had access to all the new synthesizers and technology, I started to produce, compose and record. Eventually I switched to the piano. My sister and I composed the first musical in town. Meanwhile my mother, sister, brother and I put a band together called INTERFACE. Since I was the one dealing with the technical aspects and the music sequencing, I always ended up as musical director.
In 1995, I completed a College Diploma in Music (jazz piano) at Cégep de Drummondville in Quebec. That year, accompanied with a seven piece band, I won the 'Cégep en spectacles' contest performing my original songs. I also studied 2 years and a half at University of Montreal. In 1997, I left the university to join the band 'Tall Beat' as musical director. We toured together for 5 years, in countries such as Morocco, UAE, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong-Kong, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Macao.
I finally decided to do something else.
Back in Canada, I spent one year in Quebec City working on a pop album. Then I moved back to Montreal with my friend Michael Litresits (keyboardist, producer).
Mike introduced me to alot of people such as Antoine Sicotte (well-known producer). I ended up producing several tracks for the latter, projects such as Star Académie II and III, Judie Resther, Emily I and II and others. "Star Académie 2005" wins the "Best Selling Album" prize at the Gala de l'Adisq (Canada) and “Évangéline” a song that I arranged and programed was chosen as the most popular song of the year! I also had the chance to play with different recording artists like SKY, Caroline Néron, Gabrielle des Trois-Maisons, Shane Philips , Marie-Christine Depeste, Sylvie Desgroseilliers and acted as either leader or keyboardist for many ‘corporate’ bands such as Soul City, Cap Show, Tendance and with the production Génération Motown.
Lately in New York City, I've been producing for artists such as Tomer Oami, Corinne Callen, Sarah Tracey, Giovanni Moretti, Junkie XL & Marco Argiro . And performing with act such as 'American Idol' Constantine Maroulis , off broadway "River Deep", Andrea Monteiro, Oami, Jean Brassard "The Kid from Paris"and I'm curently on tour with "KidzBop" ( 12millions albums sold!).
